Another Typhoon Day

Well, "Kaemi" is our second typhoon this summer.
The first one hit Taiwan 7 days ago, water floated everywhere by the school where I worked.
The main road by the Chen Chin Lake was totally covered by water. I can't even see the island in the middle of the road.

"Again", my poor scooter was broken on the way back home.
I was not surprise about that at all...

I don't know what's going on with my scooter...
She just feel tired about me, maybe.

Glad to hear that we have a Typhoon Day Off!!!
That's the only good thing I can figure out in these weeks.

oh, by the way... I am going to find a new job soon.
This time, I will find a trade company for myself.
I think that's what I really want!

A Trade Company... I am coming!!!!

I am a bone cleaner.

Hot hot hot!!! It's so hot today. I guess Melissa would say she like it!
Today is a very specail day for most of the Taiwanese people and we get a day off, (That's GOOD) but all of us have to be bone cleaners.(That's BAD)

Hahah..... not exactly, that ridiculous answer is from my colleague. April 5th is our national day, I only mention Taiwanese people because I don't know people live in China have this kinda festival or not. Anyway, we call it "Tomb Sweeping Day".

I didn't go sweeping the tomb today, because I already did that on last Saturday.
That's a big work for us to make preparations for Tomb Sweeping .... and we had to sweep two tombs.

I don't know how tomb things going in other country, but as I know in my country, it may cost you an arm or a leg to get a place to bury bodies nowadays. Most of the people choose cremation and keep the bone ashes in a jar, then set the jar in a temple or pagoda. (People who live in China don't use jar, they prefer to keep the bone ashes in a pretty tiny size of coffine, so they always buy two coffins, one is for the body, the other one is for the bone ashes.) To buy a small place to set the jar is also expensive, a place like a rental cabinet in the shooping mall may cost you 10o,ooo ~ 700,000. Also, you must be very careful to find a nice temple or pagoda which has excellent reputations .... otherwise you may got a notice for re-setting the jar in other places in the future. (Temples also bankrupt or move to other places sometimes.)

Taiwan is a small place, the more places be the grave yards, the less places people can live on it. So, I wonder how tomb things will go in Taiwan in the future. From grave yard to pagoda, what's next? It might be a chip or wafer to keep our DNA in it. The chip or wafter can be designed as an art or a decoration.... maybe a necklace is a good idea! then our future generations can wear it all the time to remeber their ancestors.

Yesterday, my colleague told me they never sweep the tomb before, because her parents were all from China. She is the second generation in Taiwan, therefore, their family doesn't have any tombs need to be sweep in Taiwan. Tomb Sweeping Day fot them is a day to remeber who they are and where they come. I think for my colleague, she probably won't have lots of feeling about that, but her parents must be very very missed their parents in China. I had heard lots of stories about how the first generstion decide to come to Taiwan and be liminted by the law can't back to China. After 50 years, our law allowed people going back, but the things were totally cahnged. Most of their parents were already passed away. All they could do is donate some money to build a nice grave for their parents. How sad....ah?

I want more "hong bao",

This year, we got 9 days off for our Chinese New Year.
My friends and I scheduled to go to Taipei or Hualian for 3 days trip at the end of our Chinese New Year vacation, but we didn't do that at last. We chose 1 day trip from Kaohsiung to Tainan, Chiayi and Yunlin to instead of our original plan.

The other days of my vacation, I watched 10 movies which were rented from the DVD shop.
Only 3 of the movies were good, they were: Howl's Moving Castle, Lord of war, and Red Eye.
If you haven't see the movies I mentioned, Howl's Moving Castle and Lord of war would be in Patty's Best Movie List, try it and then tell me how do you think of those movies!

I had took some photos about our Chinese New Year Eve's supper and all the goodies we ate druing the Chinese New Year, but I haven't found the way to up load those photos just because I can't find my camera transmission line. I will try to find it out ASAP.

Chinese New Year won't be Chinese New Year if you don't get any hong bao :

Oh! Also, I didn't get any "hong bao" from my family, becase I am not a student anymore. Actually, I should give my mom "hong bao", but I didn't. I am still a poor freshman in my fulltime worker's life ( I am not sure how to call this kind of life, if I am wrong, let me know!!) , but I had bought some lotteries for my mom and hid 3 of them for myself.

You know what? I got all 6 numbers!!!!Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

,but they were all in different pieces of lottery. phew....... We call it "tong tong gong gu!!!" (Win nothing!! in Taiwanese.)

So.....till now, I am still live in Taiwan, not join the journey with Melissa or show up in front of Katrina and Kristin's door to visit Nate. I am still work in the same place and keep making money to feed my bank account.

But... at least I had got one hong bao from my boss, so I still call it Chinese New Year.

OK, that's all what I did and had during my vacation. Want to see more blogs from Patty? Leave a message keeps me blog more!!!

PS: The chicken pox scared my face. Hope they won't stay right there for a long time. All that I could say is... "Get your chicken pox before you know what chicken pox was would be better." Believe me!

God bless me that I can pass soon.

I want to blog a blog on my English blog but I always forget the blogger's username of my blog....

hahahah.... I know the subject sounds like a tongue twister. But I still want it to be my headlines of today.

<>
Well, finally.... I found my English blog back few days ago. And there was only one test blog on it. I didn't write any more English blogs after I applied a space form that website just because I totally forgot I have one. Now, I have added it into my favorite, but I still can't remember the username all the time. So, I have to type my e-mail address time by times, and change my password again and again and again. What a silly girl I am, ah? <>

Ok, here are some informations about Taiwan in these days. check it out and update your Taiwan Spirit.

(1)Taiwan has very typical Canada Summer Times.

Yes, with no doubt! We have Canada Summer Time right now. (which is a sunny day with the tempeture around 20 celsius + dry air.) The tempeture in Kaohsiung right now is 20 celsius, that's good, but very COLD-->that's bad! (haha, I guess you won't agree with me.)

(2) Jazz Fish NEW OPEN by the Fine Art Museum.

<> Jazz Fish didn't close forever!! Katrina and Kristin, although you can't come to eat right here, I will still try to keep a seat for you.

I guess you can't forget the delicious, not so expensive, and always with a glass of tea's fried rice. They are new open in these days, and I am goint to enjoy my lunch or dinner sometimes right there. Ha, don't be too jealous!!! You know I like to share, so... I will share the "photos" with you later! (What a good friend I am!)

PS: Tell me you would like to see the English blog on the MSN Space or You prefer to read my blog without those Chinese blogs.(Chinese words bother sometimes :P) Anyway, let me know... and I will find a way to blog more in English!!
